It is said that WhatsApp has come up with view once photos and videos feature. A few days back WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to send photos and videos that, as the name suggests, can only be viewed once.
This had been originally spotted on a recent WhatsApp for Android beta release. This feature is available only for a few users right now and is also being tested for the WhatsApp Web. WABetaInfo also reported the unveiling of this feature on the WhatsApp Web version 2.2126.11.
Alongside, last month while WhatsApp was testing the view once feature for androids, WABetaInfo reported that it was rolled out to beta testers through WhatsApp for Android version 184.108.40.206.
With this, the media content that is being sent through this feature, cannot be saved and won’t be visible in the receiver’s Gallery or Photos and these files sent can’t be forwarded as well.
Also, a point to be noted that if the receiver hasn’t opened the photo or video sent through this view once feature, the media gets expired within 14 days of not opening the chat. But, here comes the misuse of everything and anything in this world.
WhatsApp has made it easier for us to share sensitive content in a disappearing format for temporary view, but, recipients still have an option to store the media. It is said that receivers could either take a screenshot of the photograph or screen record the video sent. Thus, it is advised to share media through such features only amongst trusted faces.
The New Archive Feature:
Beside this feature, as the archive feature becomes available to almost all of them, WhatsApp Web release said to have a new archive feature where there won’t be any notifications to the users about the messaged of individuals that they archived. The incoming messages are not visible into your chat-box i.e., they will remain archived. You can restore your archived chats from the Android or iOS settings of your WhatsApp.
If you aren’t able to visualize these features, you don’t need to worry as WhatsApp is continuously increasing the number of people that can use these features, and using beta versions from your mobile could help to urge them.
